Structure and Fees

On November 30, 2008, the restructuring of our membership categories and fees came into effect. As MTABC is a chapter of CAMT, aligning with the new CAMT categories will bring consistency and give support to CAMT, joining them in their push to lead Music Therapists toward a higher degree of professional standards.

The new MTI category is for those individuals who are actively working toward accreditation as an intern or recent graduate. This MTI classification of membership would last up to two membership years with the opportunity to receive an extension through CAMT.  Students will move to this MTI category when their internship file is opened. MTI members should also notify the Director of Membership when they graduate with their degree, in order to receive upgraded membership benefits.

Associate members working towards accreditation will maintain their associate status until they achieve MTA.  They then qualify for a complimentary upgrade to MTA.

MTABC offers our members complimentary upgrades. This means that if you need to upgrade your membership at any point throughout the year (ie: Associate or MTI to MTA), you will not be charged the extra fee, but will still be able to enjoy all the benefits of the upgraded category. Come November, you would simply sign-up under the category that applies to you at that time.

Please note: if your contact or job information changes throughout the year, please remember to update it on our website by logging into the Secure Member's Area and clicking on "Edit Profile". You will no longer need to fill out a registration form each year, making the renewal process much easier.
