MTABC is excited to host our next CE workshop with Joney Poon On Sunday May 3rd.

She will be leading us in a method of music improvisation, known as ConductionĀ®. This practice involves a conductor leading
an ensemble of instrumentalists using hand symbols and gestures that guide their improvisational choices in order to create a real-time composition. This method not only builds on musical skills but can be adapted in music therapy work settings. For example, being used with with stroke-recovery patients in a therapy setting or group children work. This method has so far proven promising in helping them to recover motor skills, rehabilitate their vocal chords, build social, listening, attention/focusing skills and much more.
