Unsupervised Self-Study Activities

Members may obtain CEC’s for independent self-study projects, such as reading music therapy related books and journals, watching music therapy related videos or CD-ROMS, listening to or watching on-line seminar or podcast, or learning to use music therapy related computer software and hardware. Study of these materials must NOT be required for coursework claimed under “Educational Activities”.

Calculating CEC’s:

Videos – Calculate 1 CEC for each video viewed.

On-line seminar / Podcast – Calculate 1 CEC for each hour of on-line seminar / podcast.

Verifying Documentation:

Videos: Maintain documentation containing the following information:

• Title and producer of video
• Brief review (1 page) of the video and how it relates to your practice of music therapy.

On-line seminar / Podcast: Maintain documentation containing the following information:

• Title and name of presenter / speaker
• Brief review (1 page) of the on-line seminar / pod-cast and how it relates to your practice of music therapy

Note: No more than 10 credits may be claimed in this section during one 5-year cycle.
