John Downes holds a Master of Counselling degree and is a registered clinical counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. John brings over 29 years of clinical experience to Connect Counselling with specialization in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to address issues of anxiety and depression, as well as experience using solution-focused therapy.

John also earned a Bachelor of Music Therapy Degree (1989) and is a certified music therapist (MTA). His experience ranges from working with pre-schoolers with ASD, Teens at risk due to mental health issues, Adults with physical and mental disadvantages, and seniors in long term care.
