Kathryn Swift is an accredited/certified music therapist in private practice in Greater Vancouver area BC. She is a Certified Fellow in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music, (BMGIM) Kathryn is also a Therapist and Supervisor for BMGIM students. She is an Accredited vocal psychotherapist (AVPT). She is qualified in the Trainings in Mandala Assessment Research Tool (MARI). Kathryn brings 20 plus years of meditation and mindfulness experience, including training with John Kabat Zinn (MBSR), Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, Rick Hanson, Daniel Siegel, et al. She completed courses in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Bessel van der Kolk (Trauma), Stephen Porges (Polyvagal Theory), and Daniel Seigel (Integration).

Kathryn’s focus is in a music centered psychotherapy called Guided Imagery & Music (BMGIM), where clients are connected to feelings and images through the use of recorded music. In these sessions, she addresses a variety of areas. These may include emotional and physical health, self-development, and spiritual growth, working toward insights, integration, and transitions.

Kathryn is also trained as an Advanced Vocal Psychotherapist. Since being diagnosed with Essential Voice Tremor herself, she works with clients who also have physical and self-esteem issues around their voice.
